Guys Behind The Blog {February 2015 Edition}

Thursday, February 26, 2015

Hi ya'll I am linking up with Betsy from Heavens to Betsy for her "Guys Behind The Blog" link up!
So here are the Questions and Brenden's answers! Hope you enjoy them because I did!

1 // if you could write a book, what topic would you write about and why?
I'm not too sure how to answer this. I'm not big into reading so I never thought of anything in a literary way. I guess it would be a autobiography, easy to write and doesn't need any research or imagination.

2 // what is one thing on your bucket list, or one thing that you'd like to do or accomplish in your lifetime?
Skydiving. I do fear heights but what better way to try and get over a fear than to face it head on.
3 // if you could look out your window and only see one view for the rest of your life, what would you want to see?
If I had to have one view for the rest of my life, id make it a tropical setting. Maybe one half beach and another half rainforest. You get two good views in one.
4 // imagine you're opening a shop.  what are you selling?
Hmmm, what would I sell? I'd be a physical type store like amazon. A place where people could get anything and everything.
5 // if you could have 50lbs of anything other than money, what would it be?
Oh man, it can't 50lbs of money? I guess the second best thing would be 50lbs of pure gold or a 50lbs diamond.
6 // time to brag on your girl...tell us one thing that makes you proud of your girlfriend/fiance/wife!
This one makes me especially proud of my fiancé. Her past wasn't that great, but she overcame who she was and changed for the better. She not only made me proud but everyone in her family proud as well. It wasn't something simple or easy for her but she did not give up and used her strength and became the person she is now. Someone I am very proud of who can also be a role model for others who went through the same hardship that she has. It might sound cheesy but she is more than someone I'm just proud of, It's hard to label it but I believe she is a positive motivation for anyone, no matter what obstacle or hardship life throws at them.

Currently {Link Up}

Monday, February 23, 2015

Today I am linking up with Becky from Choose Happy for her Currently link up!

Decorating... I am pretty much decorating my whole house still. Since we moved in at the end of November we didn't have much free time to decorate with the holidays and everything... However Saturday I did but a "K" for our living room and I love it!

Watching... Brenden and I have been watching the walking dead and we didn't get to watch last nights new episode so that is on the agenda for tonight! Also I have been making him watch 19 Kids and Counting with me. Hehe.

Trying... I am currently trying to get more wedding stuff done! I am such a slacker and put things off! I have realized with 450+ guests invited I cannot put off finding a venue any longer! I am running out of options and I think I am being tooo picky!

Painting... Well I am not painting anything just yet but we have all the paint swatches out and trying to pick out wall colors for every room in our house!

Tips on Keeping Your Pets Warm During the Winter

Sunday, February 22, 2015

I know here in PA it has been super cold lately and we have done a few things to help keep our fur babies warm. So I am sharing with y'all some tips on how to keep your active pups warm!
*Some of these suggestions we have not done yet*

1. Have them wear coats when they are outside. Our girls used to hate wearing coats but they are now used to them and they love them! When they go to work with us we just leave their coats on them all day and they don't mind at all!

2. Boots. Maci and Peyton do not wear boots but I know they should. We ordered them each a set of boots and they did not fit them (like I am talking not even close to fitting them! We measured their paws and according to the chart they were mediums so that's what we bought, but when we got them they looks like xxs!). So now we try to limit how long they are outside.

(their super tiny boots that Brenden could probably wear on his toes! haha)

3. Limit their time outside. Our girls would be outside all day long if they were allowed! When we take them to work they do play outside a lot even when it is snowing but we only let them go out for a few minutes, come back in to warm up for awhile then they can go back outside again. However this last week it has been in the negatives pretty much all day so they stayed home all week long, which caused them to have a lot of energy built up when we got home at night!
**When outside make sure they are not stepping on salt, and if so make sure you wipe their paws off when they come in to prevent them from burning. Also, if you use salt try to get pet safe salt.**

4. Keep them hydrated. Due to your pet trying to keep warm they use more energy and become dehydrated a lot faster!

5. Be cautious if you shave your dog during the winter. Dogs fur keeps them warm during the winter months, if they are shaved down close their skin they will not be able to keep themselves warm. Also when bathing them in winter months make sure they are completely dry before letting them outside.

**When taking your dog on a walk in the snow make sure they have a leash on! Dogs can lose their scent in the snow so if they are not on a leash they can become lost very quickly!

Hope these tips were helpful to keep your pet warm during these cold winter months!

Also, because our dogs are very energetic we play with them inside a lot to burn off some of their energy since they cannot be outside running around as much as they normally do. We buy them new fun and exciting toys so they are not bored inside.

Our Engagement Story

Tuesday, February 17, 2015

I haven't posted much about Brenden and my relationship so I figured I would share our engagement story! One day I will share about when we met and things we did before we got engaged but this is where I wanted to start.
**We were only together for four months before we got engaged!**

On Monday, August 18th, 2014 after work Brenden said he wanted to go to dinner, I sighed and said "can we just stay in bed pleaseeeee, I'm tired..." He said no get your butt up and lets go. So I did and we had a really nice dinner at TGI Fridays. After dinner Brenden said we were invited to our good friend Brittany's house for a bonfire and we really should go (at this point I am thinking he is crazy, 1. its a weeknight and we have to get up early the next morning, and 2. I am super tired, enough said! Haha). I begged him to just go home and let me go to bed early but he was very persistent, which is odd for him.

After we got to Brittany's and we all had a couple beers the guys went inside to get everyone more drinks (after he proposed I found out that when they went inside he was filling them in on when to take pictures and record it). A little after the guys brought the drinks back it got super quiet then our friends turned the lights on their phones on. I was SOOOO confused and had absolutely no idea what was going on! Then Brenden got down on one knee right in front of me and asked me to marry him! I was so excited and surprised that I didn't even say "yes" until Brittany yelled "so what do you say?!" then I did say yes. I guess I thought that I said it before but I was so shocked that I didn't.

So that was a short summary of our proposal.

This week I am linking up with Karli for her link up!

And Darci for her link up!

one ||  This week I got a blog makeover by the lovely Jana from Little Web Writing Hood! She is great at what she does and has very reasonable pricing! I am completely in love with my blog design!

two ||  I have been super busy this week at work because the guy that works in the office with us is only working three days a week now so now we just have to adjust and get used to only the two of us here at work now.

three ||  I am soooo excited for our engagement pictures to get done so he can send us the flash drive with all of them on it!!!

four ||  I am really looking forward to Sunday so I can sleep in! I am running on very little sleep this week so I am exhausted and ready to lay around all day and sleep (even though I really need to clean the house so hopefully I get some time to do that tomorrow or I will be cleaning instead of lounging around Sunday)!

five ||  We went to the Garth Brooks concert last night and we had a blast! When we got there we thought our seats were going to suck but like they said, there is no bad seat in the place! I really have no words for the concert it was just an all around amazing performance! So I am going to share some pictures of our night with you!

Okay, okay, okay! I am done with the Garth Brooks picture overload! haha Sorry!

Engagement Photos *Sneak Peek*

Tuesday, February 3, 2015

Sunday we had an amazing photo shoot with Frank! He is SOOO much fun to work with and he makes everyone a little less nervous and awkward! Also his prices are great! We will not be getting our pictures for a week or so but he did send me one picture that we took so I wanted to show you that one! But be ready for picture overload when we do receive all of them! I am soooo excited!

We took pictures at two locations only five minutes from where we live and they turned out great! In some of the pictures Brenden wore his ACU's and I wore jeans, a white long sleeved t shirt with a red vest and a scarf. We also brought our two dogs with us so I am excited to see if we got any good ones with them (they did NOT want to stay still for any pictures haha)!

Sorry this is a quick little post but I did want to share that picture!

xoxo,
Courtney
